Primary Uses

This medication is prescribed for infections in several parts of the body, including:

Respiratory Tract: Treats pneumonia, bronchitis (including acute exacerbations), and lung infections.
Ear, Nose, and Throat: Manages acute otitis media (middle ear infection), sinusitis, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis.
Urinary Tract: Effective against uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Skin and Soft Tissue: Used for bacterial skin infections like impetigo or cellulitis.
Gastrointestinal: Can be used to treat typhoid fever and bacterial diarrhea in pediatric patients.

Important Considerations

Bacterial Only: It does not work for viral infections such as the common cold or flu.
